Rome, once again but not the last time

We had a really great time in Rome with my wife Sari. This was our, hmmm…? at least 8th or 10th time there, but we can obviously never get too much of the eternal city. As expected end of July the weather in Rome is hot. And I mean pretty dang hot if you should want to stroll through the city all day long. But this time we were not rookies no more. So we started the days pretty early, walking more or less but around 10 km’s, when it was still nice and fresh and came back to the hotel around 2-3 PM. The hottest part of the day we stayed in reading books, had perfect nap, a cold shower, or just sat in the shadow on the porch we had… And then  we left out for aperitifs about 6-7 pm, found some nice piazza and a bar and enjoyed Aperol Spritz’s chatting and looking at passers-by. And then, it was time for the most important part of traveling in Italy. Mangiare! to Eat! 🙂 I do not know so many Italian words, but “mangiare” solves (almost??!) everything.  And after you are finished with the delicious meal you will learn 2 more words: molto bene! Very good! With these 3 words you are almost half way getting to become a real Italian… Oh, well, dont forget “La Bella figura” also… but that’s a total different story 🙂

Ok, I happened to have my camera with me and I did some shooting. We were extremely lucky to catch the full moon and that our hotel staff mentioned that Castello di s’Angelo is open also during late evening and night. So we queued to be the first on the roof and made it 🙂 It was pretty many steps before reaching the roof terrace, but it was worth it!. No moon in this shot but I’ll add some images here later.
